Happy New Year!

Things I want to remember about Ben and Eli:

1. Ben's favorite song is Mrs. Robinson by Paul Simon. We often hear him singing, "Jesus loves you more than you will know." If Eli hears Ben singing he will chime in with, "Whoa, whoa, whoa...hey, hey, hey."

2. Eli likes to be comforted when he is scared, but not so much when he gets hurt. He just gets angry for a second and is off playing again.

3. Ben is still crazy about astronauts one year later. His other interests include firefighting and the coast guard.

4. Eli repeats almost everything we say and his words are becoming more clear daily. My favorite things to hear him say are love you and pillow (which he pronounces bli-blow).

5. Ben has graduated from a booster to sitting unsupported on our dining room chairs.

6. Ben loves to help us bake. He always gets his own piece of bread dough to knead and shape into a roll when we make bread.

7. Eli LOVES to play chase from the foyer, through the kitchen, into the dining room, through the hall...over and over and over.

8. Eli likes looking at birds and the moon...really he is still attracted to anything happening outside.

9. Eli goes down the slide by himself, but still does not like to swing or be flipped or twirled around.

10. Ben wants us to do things at the same EXACT time that he does things (like eat vitamins, take off our shoes) and he has a tendency to get very upset when they don't happen at EXACTLY the same time.

11. Ben sits in the jogging stroller while I run and he tells me when I should run/ walk according to my IPod app. We also listen to TV on the Radio as I run--it plays from a small speaker we stash in the stroller.

12. Eli has gotten 8 teeth in the past month. Poor Eli.

13. Ben knows that he is allowed one non-nutritious snack per day and declines offers from others if he has already had his snack.

14. Eli likes to dance and sing and help with the laundry.

15. Both kids are hilarious, loving, happy, and fabulous and Josh and I feel so lucky to have them in our lives.
